Minor’s Instruction Permits

A
  • Be at least 15½ years old.
  • Complete a driver education program.
  • Complete the Driver’s License & ID Card Application (DL 44/eDL 44) at dmv.ca.gov.
  • Have your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) sign the application. If both parents/guardians have joint custody, both must sign.
  • Pass a knowledge test.
