Q

What is the motor effect?

A

When a current-carrying wire is placed in a magnetic field and feels a force, causing the wire to move (motion)

Main principle of electric motors

Q

What is electromagnetic induction?
(the dynamo effect)

A

The creation of a voltage (potential difference) in a wire when it experiences a change in magnetic field. This can happen if the wire moves through a magnetic field or if the magnetic field around the wire changes.
