Security procedure for visitors
Ensure that there is always a receptionist and/or security staff at the entrance to the premises.
Visitors must report to Reception when entering a business and their name will be entered in the visitor’s book.
Visitors will be issued with a visitor’s badge which they should always wear within the building. Badges help to spot unauthorised people.
Security procedures of Employees
ID Badges or security passes are issued to staff and workers.
Panic alarms may be installed to provide reassurance for staff working in isolated areas.
CCTV is used to monitor and record who is entering and leaving the building.
Security procedures of Property
All office doors and windows should be locked before employees leave the premises.
The last person to leave should set the security alarm.
Employees should lock away any portable equipment when not in use.
Security procedures of information
Locks on filing cabinets and computers ensure that they can only be accessed by authorised staff.
Passwords must not be obvious and they should be a mix of numbers, letters and special characters.
Confidential documents should be locked away and disposed of securely when no longer required.
