Should an incident start to erupt requiring immediate lockdown of the flight deck, Cabin crew must?
• implement the clear zone immediately;
• advise passengers to remain in their seats;
• place a galley cart in front of the flight deck door;
• use Able-bodied passengers (ABP) to block access to the flight deck area.
In any developing incident in the cabin, Cabin crew will notify the flight deck with what information? (Hijacking)
- Number of how many person(s);
- Weapons Observed or claimed;
- Description Age, race, sex, language, physical (drugged/intoxicated), emotional state, height,
weight and/or distinguishing features; - Accomplices Observed or claimed, ground based or in-flight;
- Demands Record them to avoid future misunderstandings;
- Other data Seat or ticket number, home address, name of family or friends.
Signs of an unruly pax?
- Obvious intoxication;
- Unusually loud and boisterous behavior;
- Threatening, violent or disruptive behavior;
- Smoking on board.
What are come preventative measures for an unruly pax?
- Provide a warning to a loud/boisterous individual about his/her behavior and obtain an assurance that the behavior will not continue or reoccur during the flight (Note: flight crew must always be advised of their presence);
- Deny boarding for this flight (when necessary)
- Have another colleague try an communicate if does not work with one person
How many ABP to use to restrain an unruly pax?
ideally four (4) ABPs and one (1) flight attendant should be involved. ABPs would neutralize each of the limb (legs and arms) and Flight attendant to apply the restraints.
What is a sleeper agent?
- is a terrorist operative who will be present but not indicate his or her presence during the early stages of a takeover, and perhaps not at all throughout the entire operation;
- is generally present to develop information or in the event it is deemed necessary, to back up and support the overt members of the terrorist team.
What is a deep sleeper agent?
- is on board specifically to develop intelligence and operational information for future activities. Very rarely will the “deep sleeper” break his/her cover;
- will generally be unsuspected and will be cleared following the operation with the other
passengers.
Where is the least structural risk location on the aircraft? (A.k.a bomb)

What are the procedure if a bomb is located?
With the authority of the pilot and command, bomb should be moved to 2R. 2R must be disarmed before being relocated, and converted with wet material (seat cushions, coats, suitcases, etc)
What are the four (4) threat levels (following the FAM Security and IMSM revision)?
Level 1 – Minor incident
Level 2 – Moderate incident
Level 3 – Safety hazard
Level 4 – Security threat
Where a lockdown of the flight deck is necessary to ensure the continued integrity of the flight, what defines the clear zone in the aircraft?
The area in front of the flight deck must be considered a clear zone and no passengers will be permitted in this area.
During a lockdown, what mode of communication is used between the cabin and the flight deck?
The interphone is the only mode of communication used between the cabin and the flight deck.
What is the definition of an unruly passenger?
Unruly/disruptive passenger refer to any pax who fails to respect the rules of conduct while on board an aircraft or refuses to follow the instructions of the crew, thereby disturbing good order and discipline.
When a complete aircraft security search must be conducted
by the crew?
A complete aircraft security search must be conducted for any flight departing from an airport terminal where passengers and belongings are screened by a screening authority (CATSA, TSA or other foreign screening authority).
