Thomas Marsh decided to stand by his wife’s character after she was accused of not sharing the cream from her cow after his agreed to not do so.

Thomas had many afflictions because of his family, he was promised his family would be blessed if he went out and shared the gospel. So his family was already a problem, his wife became a huge problem.

He was to stay around the area of his brother’s home and preach the gospel, not fearing man.

Explain verse 32:4.

Verse 4 tells us that we need to listen and pay attention to the words written by the prophets today. And if we pray about these revelations then he will reveal to us more. The scriptures are the standards to live our lives by.

What prompted this revelation?

They wanted to know more about taking the gospel to the Lamanites.

They covenanted that they will assist Oliver Cowdery faithfully in this thing by giving heed unto all his words and advice, which [are], or shall be given him by the spirit of truth, ever praying with all prayer and supplication for our and his prosperity and our deliverance from bonds and imprisonments and whatsoever may come upon us, with all patience and faith.

What of great significance to the Church resulted from the missionary journey to the descendants of Lehi, apart from any success among these descendants themselves?

It was the beginning of bring the gospel to all of the other laminates in the world. They also established 2 future headquarters of the church: Kirkland, Ohio and Independence, Missouri.

God knows who is pure in heart, he will judge us not only for our actions but for our motives.

We are in the “Saturday night” of time; that the time of Christ’s return is coming quickly. Those who labored faithfully in this will be rewarded equally to those from previous dispensations.

The gospel is repentance, baptism for the remission of sin, then the gift of the Holy Ghost and to have faith in Christ.

What is meant when the Lord says we need to be ready for the coming of the Bridegroom?

The Bridegroom is Christ and we are the ‘party’ that needs to be ready for his arrival. To do this we need to watch and pray – we need quiet, steady attention to present duties, to make the gospel the center of our lives.

This is referring to calling the gospel back to the earth – the Restoration of the Church upon the earth.

Because Orson Pratt believe in Christ he was blessed, but because he was called to preach and answered the called to do so the Lord would be blessing him even more.

It describes the wonders in the sky when the second coming occurs, and it is important enough that the Lord mentions them in 3 other places.

We are on the earth to learn from the example of our Heavenly Father and his son – who both GAVE. We too can give, and we need to choose unselfishly.

Suffering can make saints of people as they learn patience, long-suffering, and self-mastery. The sufferings of our Savior were part of his education.

Sidney was teaching many different congregations when the missionaries came to teach them the gospel. All most all of the members were baptized. Sidney was preparing them.

Christ was crucified for all the world – we will all have to pay the price if we don’t repent in this life, we will have to suffer like he did if we don’t repent.

Why did Edward Partridge come to see Joseph Smith in New York?

The people in Kirkland sent Edward to see the prophet because they knew that Edward would not be fooled. He would then return to Kirkland to tell them of the truthfulness of what he had learned.
