Q

How do you do filtration

A

Put some filter paper into a funnel and pour the mixture into it, the liquid part of the mixture runs through the paper, leaving behind a solid residue

Q

How to do chromatography

A

-draw a line near the bottom of the filter paper
-add spot of different inks to the line
-roll the sheet up and put it in a beaker of a solvent
-make sure the level of solvent is below the baseline
-place a lid on top of the container to stop it from evaporating
-each different dye will move up the paper at different rates
-once the solvent has nearly reached the top of the paper take out the solvent
