What are the different types of infections?
Bacterial, viral, and parasitic
What are some examples of STIS?
Bacterial: ex) Gonorrhea
Viral: ex) Herpes and Hepatitis
Parasitic: ex) Crabs

How can STIS affect you and your body?
STIS, especially untreated, can lead to conditions like PID (Pelvic inflammatory disease), infertility, pregnancy complications and increased risk of certain cancers. In addition, you are more at risk of spreading STIS to your partner.
How can you protect yourself from STIS?
You can protect yourself by using contraceptive methods like condoms and dental dams as well as getting regular STI testing. Getting vaccinations when available. Having a monogamous relationship will help reduce the risk of contracting STIS.
What are the 4 fluids of transmission?
1) Blood
2) Semen
3) Vaginal Fluid
4) Breast Milk
Can skin to skin contact pass STIS?
Yes, skin to skin contact can pass STIS if one of the 4 fluids of transmission is present. As well as through things like open sores, sharing food and drinks, and kissing.
What is the difference between viral and bacterial STIS?
Viral STIS: Caused by viruses. They can be treated but not cured meaning you will have it for life.
Bacterial: Caused by bacteria. Can be treated and cured.
What is the difference between symptomatic and asymptomatic?
Symptomatic means a person is showing symptoms and asymptomatic means a person is not showing any symptoms.
