Define a search
A search is an examination of a person, place or thing with a view toward discovery of a crime or criminal intent (e.g., stolen goods, burglary tools, weapons, etc.). SF personnel conduct searches of persons, places or things within jurisdictional limitations.

If permission is refused, the driver will be advised that refusal to permit the check may result in the loss of base driving privileges, revocation of base registration, or debarment action.
What happens if during the course of examining a vehicle, contraband, controlled dangerous substances, or suspected stolen property is discovered?
The person involved will be apprehended or detained immediately. The examination will be discontinued and the patrolman will request consent to search via AF Form 1364, Consent for Search and Seizure. ECC will contact MSG/CC for authority to search via AF Form 1176, Authorization to Search and Seize.
