Q

Negatives of F-Scale and Authoritarian Personality

A

Response Bias/Social Desirability - Questionnaire means that P’s can answer to what they believe is socially correct, rather than their personal beliefs.

Cannot explain obedience on a mass scale - eg Nazi Germany, all of the Germans had varying personality, therefore they cannot ALL be authoritarian.

Only correlational - only making inferences between authoritarian and obedience levels without any kind of data to ``1
