Legitimacy - Many thought she wasn’t legitimate queen as Henry VIII got divorced
Society - Saw a woman to be inferior. People thought she should marry
Religion - country was divided by religion. She is protestant but there were catholics
Finance - England fought costly wars before she came in, making England weak compared to France and spain (who were catholic)
