Tumors
A. Benign Tumors:
Adenoma (tubular, villous, tubulovillous)
Leiomyoma
Lipoma
Hemangioma
Hamartoma (e.g., in Peutz-Jeghers syndrome)
Fibroma
B. Malignant Tumors:
- Adenocarcinoma
Most common in the duodenum, often near the ampulla of Vater
- Neuroendocrine Tumors (Carcinoid)
Common in ileum, often secrete serotonin
- Lymphoma
Usually non-Hodgkin B-cell, often in the ileum
- Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor (GIST)
Arises from interstitial cells of Cajal, commonly in the jejunum/ileum
- Metastatic Tumors
From melanoma, breast, lung, or colon cancer
