How might gender affect someone participating in sport?(2)
There are more opportunited for a male then a female because of current society/there are also more men role models then female role models because of media attention
How might age affect someone participating in sport?(2)
- minimum age of ntering the marathon is 18 meaning they can’t participate in certain activities
- football teams start at the age of 7 meaning any under it restrics them from participating
How might socio-economic affect someone participating in sport?(2)
- depending if you are upper or lower class it can lead to participating for certain sport e.g upper class-rowing working class-darts
- upper class will have access to peronal coaches and good facilities
How might ethnicity affect someone participating in sport?(2)
- there could be instances of racist abuse againts no white players which can lead to bad mental health and depression
- depending on relgion in islam people have to wear hijabs while participating in sport
How might disability affect someone participating in sport?(2)
- someone disabled may not able to participate it competitive sports as they struggle because of disability
- someone disbaled may need someoen who is expiernced in coaching with disabled people
Who would influence people to play sports? (2)
- family have a big impact as you grow up around thn meaning if your dad enjoys watching football you might
- if your fellow friends enjoy certain sport it can influence you to play the sport to be able to spend time with them
What does commercialisation mean
Making something available on the market;using something to make a profit
What does media mean
The main means of mass communication(television and internet)
What has increased media coverage led to in sport
It has led to sports being covered all over the world on tv, internet ect
Fashion in sports
Many activities require the ‘right’ equipment for example you need boots to play football
Give 2 advantages of commercialisation
- provides many sources of funds for people
- promotes and active lifestyle,which is good for health
Give 2 disadvatages of commercialisation
- seat prices for events may be too expensive for many people
- sponsors may deman thungs are done a certain way, which could clash with the ideals of an individual or group
What is deviance
-Behaviour that falls outside the norms or what is thought to be acceptable
What is negative deviance
Deviance that has a detrimental effect
What is positive deviance
Deviance where there is no intention of going againts the rules
What is sportsman ship
-qualitites of fairness, following the rules or being gracious in defeat
What is gamesmanship
Bending the rules/laws of a sport without actualky breaking them
Examples of negative deviance
Going into a challenge and aiming to hurt the person on purpose
Example of positive deviance
By mistake timing a challenge too late and injuring someone

After a rough game coming togetehr with the other team and shaking hands to show respect

Time wasting by faking injuries of kicking the ball away
