What was the aim of the study?
To investigate how people deal with an unethical and unjust request. All have the option to obey, disobey and whistle blow.
To investigate the different between how people think they will behave and how they actually behave.
To see if people disobeyed/whistle blew show different personality characteristics than those who don’t
What was the method?
Controlled observation
In the study the method is a controlled observation but what are the advantages and disadvantages of this?
Advantage -more control over the environment -fewer extraneous variables Disadvantages -environment will be artificial so less natural behaviour -low ecological validity
