Sport ; more media coverage, raise awareness increases participation, high profile of sport
Increased funding from sponsors, run events develop elite performers, better facilities
Player ; paid millions, can train full time (doesn’t need another job to fund training), can receive top quality products
Spectator ; more coverage, replays, player cam , ability to buy the same cloths and equipment
Disadvantages of commercialisation for the sponsor, sport, players and spectator
Sponsor ; lack of viewers, not expected exposure, player might not perform well, player might be a bad role model
Sport ; clothing and rules pay be change to make it more appealing, breaks in play fro advertising, monitoring spots get little media coverage, negative reporting (bad rep)
Player ; withdraw of sponsorship could cause financial difficulty, required appearances take time from training, no privacy, restricted clothing
Spectator ; subscription costs, minority sport not shown, pay per view
