Family
A social institution consisting of a group of people who are connected and often live together and share resources.
Kinship
Social relationships that form the foundation of family ties.
Marriage
A socially and legally recognized union between two people.
Nuclear family
A family consisting of two parents and their biological or adopted children living together.
Endogamy
Social practice of marrying within a specific group such as ones social group.
Exogamy
Social practice of marrying outside ones social group.
Monogamy
Practice of only having one spouse.
Serial monogamy
Engaging in a series of monogamus relationships.
Polygamy
A form of marriage which involves more than one spouse.
Polygyny
When one man has multiple wives.
Polyandry
When a women has multiple husbands.

Blended families
A blended family, also known as a stepfamily, consists of two parents and their children from previous relationships, living together as a single family unit.
Violence against women and children
A serious and widespread issue, including physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. It stems from gender inequality and cultural norms, and addressing it requires legal reforms, education, and societal change.
Causes of divorce

Cohabitation
Cohabitation refers to unmarried couples living together in a long-term or permanent relationship, often involving romantic or sexual intimacy.
