The back of the tongue raises to the soft palate, eg. “k”, “g”, “ng”
How are alveolar sounds produced? What are some examples?
Tongue touches the back of the alveolar ridge’s back, eg. “t”, “d”, “s”, “l”, “z”, “n”
How are labiodental sounds produced? What are some examples?
Lower lip and upper teeth make contact, eg. “f”, “v”
How are dental sounds produced? What are some examples?
Tongue touches the back of upper teeth to constrict airflow, “th” as in “this” and “through”
How are palatal sounds produced? What are some examples?
Tongue approaches hard palate in “sh” and “ch”
How are bilabial sounds produced? What are some examples?
Lips are pressed together, eg. “p”, “b”, “m”
How are glottal sounds produced? What are some examples?
Produced in the glottis (throat), eg. “h”
