Q

What practical can you use to measure force/spring constant/extension

A

PRACTICAL:
- Add masses onto spring to change force
- Measure extension with ruler each weight, Plot F against E Where F is force and E is extension
- Gradient of Graph = Spring Constant
- If the line goes through the origin it proves the line is directly proportional
- Avoid any systematic errors by lining up 0cm with bottom of spring
- Avoid parallax error by getting on eye level when measuring
