Q

When does an airplane stall?

A

When the critical AOA is exceeded

21
Q

What is ADS-B?

A

Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast. Satellite based surveillance using GPS to determine a/c location and speed

22
Q

What is Mode C veil?

A

A 30nm ring usually around class B, must have a mode c transponder to enter

23
Q

Where are the VOR antennas?

A

On the tail! V shape!

24
Q

Where are ADS-B antennas?

A

On top and bottom of empennage

25

What are the general dimensions of class C airspace?
Surface to 1,200' (5nm), 1,200'-4,000' shelf (10nm)
28
What is the difference between a spin and a spiral?
A spin occurs when the aircraft is stalled. In a spiral, the aircraft is not stalled...horizontal component of lift is extremely high and vertical component of lift is diminished.
