-National agreements which they are members of e.g the Kyoto protocol in 1997 and Paris Agreement in 2015

Governments can subsidise the use of renewable energy to create incentives for the population

Denmark has invested heavily into wind power even tho it has a large reserves of natural gas

They provide the link between where resources are siruated and who wants to use them, this is particularly useful for politically unstable countries

Gazprom is a Russian owned energy company. They utilise Russia’s huge gas reserves and provide gas to most countries in the EU

TNCs can take advantage of locals lacking power and their money has bought the governments loyalty e.g Shell in Nigeria has destroyed livlihoods.
