The politburo was Russia’s governing body. It was split into two sections;
the leftists and the rightists

They wanted world revolution and to abolish NEP but hated Trotsky as he was too ambitious

Bukharin, Rykov, and Tomsky
They wanted to continue the NEP until the USSR was stronger
