  1. stow your bags closet to your area/station
  2. remove company ID
  3. begin the pre-passenger boarding checks in the allocated area of responsibility (example passenger cabin, las, galleys…)

*the Cabin Crew Reference Handbook (CCQRH) is required to be used ALWAYS when conducting the above checks!

A

the minimum crew will collect their demo kits, which is a pouch that contains the following equipment (seatbelt, oxygen mask, life jacket and safety card)

*can also be utilised to give a visually impaired guest a safety briefing as they can touch and feel the equipment!

A

“30 second silent review” is conducted during takeoff and landing

A

the aircraft has completed it’s “climb” phase and reached it’s “cruising” altitude.

This now allows cabin crew to conduct passenger service

A

Top of Decent is when the aircraft will leave it’s cruising altitude and begin it’s decent in order to land at the flight’s destination. This phase usually between 30-40 minutes

Do cabin crew prepare the cabin during the “Top of Decent” phase?

A

Yes, CC will collect handsets that were used for IFE, window blinds are raised, tray tables stowed, setbacks are in the upright position.

Exits, Aisles and bulkhead areas free from cabin baggage and baby bassinets are taken down. Passengers are also requested at this time to switch off and PED’s and stow them away

What will the captain or commander announce to crew when about to approach the 10,000 ft (during the top of decent phase)?

A

“Cabin Crew 10 minutes to Arrival”

*seatbelt signs will be switched ON during this announcement

What needs to be checked and locked off when announcement “Cabin Crew 10 minutes to Arrival” is made?

A

CC will check their area of responsibility for passenger compliance and Lavatories!

Once area of responsibility is checked and CC are satisified, they will communicate to RHS CC “Cabin Secure” before sitting in their jumpseat

A

Once hearing announcement from commander “ Cabin Crew disarmed doors and cross check” CC will “disarm door” so they are now able to open the door normally for passengers to disembark the aircraft via an air bridge or stairs

A

Crew ensure no personal belongings have been left behind.

Galley operator will also ensure that specific food carts and containers are resealed with a green seal
