Q

Why is standardisation important?

A

This is important as rates of disease are strongly dependent on factors so this removes bias such as differences in population or observer variation

Q

Consequence of poorly recorded measures

A

This gives a reduced association between exposure and outcome.
If only some measures are recorded poorly, this may introduce systematic errors and bias.
