A

Women:
dysuria
vaginal pruritus
intermenstrual bleeding
mild lower abdominal pain
dyspareunia
thin, purulent, mildly odorous leukorrhea

Men:
burning on urination
serous penile discharge that can become purulent
blood-tinged discharge

Diagnosis: nucleic acid amplification test

may progress to pelvic inflammatory disease
