what is a stroke?
A
when blood stops flowing to one side of the brain
- can be caused from a blood clot or bleed in the brain

what are the signs and symptoms?
A
FAST
Face
- facial droop on one side
- can’t smile/use eyes on one side
Arms
- unable to life one or both arms
- due to numbness or weakness
Speech
- slurred speech
- can’t speak at all
- difficult to understand
Time
- call 999 asap and record the time it started

high cholesterol

atrial fibrillation
diabetes

do you give the pt any medication?
A
no food, drink or medication
- may be unsafe until they’ve had secondary care investigations
