Rhetorical Question
A question asked for effect or to make a point, not requiring an answer.

Emotive Language
Words chosen to evoke an emotional response.

Imperative
A command or instruction.
Direct Address
Speaking directly to the audience using “you.”
Statistics/Facts
Using data or factual information to support an argument.
Flashback
A scene set in a time earlier than the main story, providing background or context.
‘A character recalling their childhood during a pivotal moment.’
Foreshadowing
Hints or clues about what will happen later in the story, building anticipation.

Beginning a story in the middle of the action, rather than at the start.
