What is anxiety disorder
It’s characterized by excessive fear and anxiety in the absence of true danger
How do people with anxiety disorder exhibit restless motion?
by continually activating the autonomic nervous system
What are the five types of anxiety disorders
- specific phobia
- social anxiety disorder
- Generalized anxiety disorder
- Panic disorder
- Agoraphobia
What is generalized anxiety disorder
constantly anxious and worry incessantly, including minor things. (They even worry about worrying.)

What are the results of general anxiety
- distractibility, fatigue irritabilit,y and sleep problems, lightheadedness, muscle pains restlesness
What is social anxiety disorder
its the fear of being negatively evaluated by others
linda worries that she will say and do the wrong things around other people and they will think bad of her she prefers to be by herself and avoid large groups.

The more likely they will develop other disorders such as substance abuse problems, and depression
What is a specific phobia
a fear associated with specific object or event
What is agoraphobia
agoraphobia - a disorder related to specific phobias where people are afraid of being in situations they can’t escape
Sina works for a skyscraper company, and she is terrified of not being able to get out and begins to have panic attacks
what are some common phobias
- Ophidiophobia 9 fear of snakes
- claustrophobia - a closed place
- Acrophobia- height
What are the behavioral manifestations of anxiety disorder
When presented with an ambiguous/neutral situation, anxious individuals tend to perceive it as threatening, whereas non-anxious people assume there are non non-threatening.

sickness or diorder of the mind; Psychological disorder

are factors that contribute to the development of a disorder.
What criteria have to be met in order for behavior to be considered Psychopathology
1 Deviates from cultural norms
2. Dysfunctional behavior is maladaptive
3. Distress Behavior is self-destructive
4. Danger the person causes discomfort and concern to others thus impairing a person’s social relationships
