What is authoritarian ?
This can also be called autocratic and means that decision making powers are kept at the top of an organisation. There is little use of consultation and delegation. Authoritarian leaders prefer hard HR methods

This means that decision maki g powers are not kept at the top of an organisation. There is use of consultation and delegation. Democratic leader prefer soft HR methods
What is a laissez-faire style of management ?
This means that the leader has minimal input in the decision making process and leaves the running of the organisation to employees
What is the tannembaum Schmidt continuum ?
This shows the relationship between the level of authority given to employees in relation to decision making, and the level of authority retained by the manager

High level of concern for production but no concern for employees. The leader has a fanatical drive to succeed and has a authoritarian style of leadership.
