ONT suction levels
Adults = -100-120mmhg (max = -150mmhg)
Child= -80-100mmhg (max = -125mmhg)
Infant= -60-100mmhg (max = -100mmhg)
GI suction levels
Emergency (high) = -110-130mmhg
Adult (med) = -80-100mmhg
Infant/Child (low) = -60-80mmhg
Surgical Suction Levels
Ideally 500-700mmhg; at least 300mmhg
Thoracic Suction Levels
Feel at chest: -18mmhg
Minimum: -2mmhg (when not attached to active suction, can still drain)
Neonatal Pediatric Suction
Naso/Oro/Tracheal : 60-100 mmhg (neo); 80-100 mmhg (ped)
Nasotracheal Catheter size : 5-10 Fr (neo); 10-14 Fr (ped)
Thoracic : -4 - -6 cmh2o (neo); -10 - -12 cmh2o (ped)
