A

a word that of a person, place, or thing. some suffixes change the word root into a noun. Ex. the cranium is the portion of the skull that encloses the brain (crani means skull, and -um is a noun ending)

An Adjective (pertaining to)

A

a word that defines or describes. some suffixes change the word root into an adjective or “pertaining to” Ex. the word root cardi means heart, and the suffix -ac means pertaining to. Once combined, they form the term cardiac, an adjective that means pertaining to the heart
