This medication will cause your pancreas to create more insulin to help balance out your blood glucose levels.

What are the side effects of Sulfonylureas?
A
May cause low blood sugar levels and weight gain.

What are the counselling points of Sulfonylureas?
A
Take with food to minimise your risk of low blood glucose.
Alcohol can mask warning symptoms of hypoglycaemia.
Avoid binge drinking and eat something when you drink.
Make sure your friends and family know how to recognise and treat hypoglycaemia.
