What are the 6 R’s
Reduce, Repair, Replace, Reuse, Recycle, Rethink
Reduce
Minimising the amount of materials and energy used throughout a product’s entire lifecycle, from production to disposal.
Repair
Designing products so they can be easily fixed instead of being replaced, extending their useful life.
Replace
Substituting harmful or unsustainable materials with more environmentally friendly alternatives.
Reuse
Designing products or components so they can be used again, either within the same product or across different products.
Recycle
Using materials that can be reprocessed after use and designing products to be easily disassembled for material recovery.
Rethink
Challenging whether the product is necessary, and considering new ways to meet the user’s need more sustainably.
