There are two exceptions to syllable rules.. they are?

A

If a וּ shureq is at the start of a word it is it’s own syllable. Often it is marked as a ו with a shewa. It means “and” U

Occasionally a patach is added to a ה, ח ,ע at the end of a word it is a furtive patach and isn’t part of syllable construction and is to be pronounced as part of the consonant not after it.
