Imperative sentences
Gives a command and is authoritative
I.e. Cure the king!
Interrogative sentence
Asks a question and is questioning
I.e. Is the king sick?
Exclamatory sentence
Makes an exclamation and is emotional
I.e. The king is dead; long live the king!
Simple sentence structure
Contains one subject and one verb has one main complete thought
Compound sentence structure
Contains two independent clauses joined by a coordinate conjunction or by a semicolon has two or more main complete thoughts
Complex sentence structure
Has one simple sentence and one or more clauses. These clauses are connected to the simple sentence with the words because or while,
Compound complex sentence
A combination of a compound and complex sentence which contains two or more principal clauses and one or more subordinate clauses that
Loose sentences
Makes complete sense if brought to a close before the actual ending
I.e. We reached Edmonton/ that morning/ after a turbulent flight/ and some exciting experiences
Periodic sentences
Makes sense only when the end of the of the sentence is reached
I.e. That morning, after a turbulent flight and some exciting experiences, we reached Edmonton.
Balanced sentence
The phrases and clauses balance each other be virtue of their likeness of structure meaning or length
I.e. He maketh me to lie down in the green pastures he ladeth me beside the still waters.
Declarative Sentences
Makes a statement and is assertive
I.e. The king is sick.

Subordinates clause
Dependent clause connected to a independent clause by a connecting word outside of fanboys
