Systems Flashcards
(107 cards)
When is a complete IR alignment required?
First flight of the day
Crew change
No GPS and NAVAID coverage is poor on the expected route
No GPS and expected flight time is greater than 3 hours
When is a fast IR alignment required?
When a complete alignment isn’t required AND IRS position check is at or above 5 nm
HOT AIR Pb
Fault - Duct overheat (190)
Zone Temperature Selector
Cold - 64
Normal - 76
Hot - 86
Which slats are heated?
Slats 3-4-5
WING ANTI ICE Pb
ON: on ground, tests for 30 seconds
FAULT:
- Low pressure
- Position disagree
ENG ANTI ICE Pb
Fault: Position disagree
Which probes are heated?
- Pitot heads
- Static ports
- AOA probes
- TAT probes
PROBE/WINDOW HEAT Pb
AUTO:
- Inflight - Probes and windows heated automatically
- On ground - windows (low) and probes (except TAT) with one engine running.
ON: Probes come on (except TAT), windows operate at low on the ground
GALLEY Pb
Fault: Any generator load > 100%
BAT 1(2) Pb
FAULT; Charging current out of limits
BCLs auto-logic…
- APU starting
- Loss of AC 1 & 2 and above 100 kts
- Battery charging, when voltage falls below 26.5 and opens when amps fall below 4.
- Opens to prevent batteries from completely draining
IDG Pb
FAULT: Oil outlet overheat (above 180C)
Low Oil pressure (inhibited below 14% N2)
- Don’t push for more than 3 seconds
- only push when engine is windmilling
Autopilot thermal disconnection occurs if temp reaches 200C
GEN Pb
FAULT: GCU tripped
line contractor opened
APU GEN Pb
FAULT: GCU tripped
Line contractor is open
BUS TIE Pb
- Auto ensures AC 1&2 busses are powered
AC ESS FEED PB
ALTN: AC ESS BUS is powered by AC 2
FAULT: AC ESS bus is not powered
GALLEY or GALY & CAB Pb
FAULT: Any generator load is over 100%
Generator ratings
Engine and APU: 90 KVA
Emergency generator: 5 KVA
What are the batteries rated to?
23 amp-hours
Generators in order of priority
Onside generator, External power, APU generator then Offside generator
Predictive Windshear envelope
Takeoff: From 30 kts to 100 kts, then restarts at 50’ to either 1800’ or 2300’
Landing: Either 2300’ or 1800’ down to 50’.
(Goes from warning to caution from 370’ to 50’)
ENG 1(2) FAULT light
M - Malfunction of thrust lever
A - Auto start abort
D - Disagree with HP fuel valve
OXYGEN MASK MAN ON Pb
AUTO: Signal sent to open mask doors - 14,000’ (+250’/-750’)
