Systems (Book 1) Flashcards
(85 cards)
T6NL caption trigger conditions inflight
- T6 20degC greater than the scheduled limiting value
- NH >106%
- NL >112%
- T6 >860degC during a relight
T6NL caption trigger conditions during ground start
T6 greater than 657 degC
Min interval between ground engine starts, and why
Minimum 2 minutes to allow for fuel drainage
OIL caption nuisance prevention delay time
10 +/-2 sec
(Except with gear down)
Ground vs Flight idle RPM delta
Ground idle scheduled 3% lower than flight idle
When will FPR caption go out when on the ground?
Not including malfunctions
- For 30sec when relight button is pressed to check igniters
- When an APU start is initiated
- When engine is shutdown
These are only true with no external power applied
How long should ENG START switch be set to OFF before being reselected on?
1 min
If reselected on after 1-2sec, the APSCU may log an underspeed fault
When will bleed valve close on start
When RPM reaches 2% below the scheduled ground idle NH.
Will remain closed until below 48% & is always commanded closed >70% NH
When does bleed valve open
When RPM drops below 48% NH.
Start sequence: When will APU automatically shutdown
If it doesn’t reach 79-81% within 34sec of start being initiated
When will engine start sequence be automatically cancelled
If RPM doesn’t reach 45% within 45sec of ENG START switch being set to START
If the IGN switch is at ISOLATE, how can the APU be started
By setting ENG START switch to START
Cannot be started by pushing the relight button with IGN at ISOLATE
At what airspeed does the rudder become effective
50 KCAS
AoA to trigger the stall tone
- 10.5 units
- Phase advance function will trigger at a lower AoA if the rate of onset is high enough
Maximum advance is 2 units, ie. min AoA for tone is actually 8.5
AoA for constant stall tone alarm
- 14 units
- Phase advance function will trigger at a lower AoA if the rate of onset is high enough
Maximum advance is 2 units, ie. min AoA for tone alarm is actually 12
What are the two considerations for an abort above Vstop
From Part 3 (HANDLING)
- EMBS should be observed unless this will delay braking to less than 5000’ from the end of the ASDA
- Throttle should be closed due to the engine’s high idling thrust
At what temp/humidity could icing conditions occur
Temp +6degC or less, and relative humidity is 50% or more
Keep ground running time to a minimum in icing conditions
How long will igniters activate for if a surge is detected
15sec
Glide speed/AoA
- Below 25,000’: 5 AoA (=190KCAS at half fuel)
- Above 25,000’: M0.65
To allow windmilling, assisted relight, reduce misting, save battery
Recommended turbulence penetration speed
300 - 325 KCAS
Except in an emergency, what is the max speed to jettison a streamed brakechute
50 KCAS
Engine start EEC automatic cancel conditions
- NH does not exceed 30% within 25sec of reaching 10%
- NH does not exceed idle-2% within 90sec of reaching 10%
- T6 exceeds 647degC
- T6 exceeds 607degC for >15sec
- T6 exceeds 607degC and is rising at >80degC per second
What is the purpose of an engine dry crank
- Cool the turbine
- Allow excess fuel to drain
How long does the fire detection system take to reset following activation
Up to 45sec
