Also known as service plate or
show plate
A 12” plate used as underliner
in formal sit-down dinners.
Place Plate
A 10” plate used for the main dish in each cover in formal dinners. It could also be sued for the entry course in formal dinners.
Dinner Plate
Also known as luncheon plate.
A 9” multipurpose plate used for daily dining.
Breakfast Plate
A 9” deep plate used for soup in
formal sit-down dinners.
Soup Plate
A 6’ multipurpose deep dish used for cereals, desserts, salad, or rice
Cereal Bowl
A 7” plate used for salads, desserts or underliners for stemware
Salad Plate
Come in pairs and is used for hot chocolate or after dinner coffee. The capacity is half as
much as the ordinary cup.

Serving dish for vegetables, rice, or any saucy dish

7-12 oz long, narrow, triangular body with very short stem; base
is narrower than mouth
Pilsner Glass
used for brandy

6 oz wide mouth saucer-like thick body for ice cream or salad
Sherbet Glass

Collins Glass
Used to cover the entire surface of the table plus overhang of about 10-24 inches and floor
length for buffet.
Tablecloths
A heavy pad-like material used underneath tablecloths that fits the size of the table without overhang.
Protects table from hot dishes and deadens the sounds when plate &
serving dishes are placed
