Task 4 Flashcards

(6 cards)

1
Q

Advantages of chi-squared:

A
  • used to compare observed results with expected results
-Expected results are based off null hypothesis
  • determines if the difference between observed I expected date is due to a relationship between variables.

Further chi-squared knowledge:

A
  • Non-parametric test= evaluate distribution of data over whole populations.
-betterto use den distribution is not entirely ‘normal’

Q

Bell curve:

A

Mean = mode = median → it produces an even “bell curve”.

Q

Why was a non-parametric test used?

A
  • better to use when distribution is not entirely “normal”
  • Bette to use when you have a smaller sample size.
  • non - parametric tests are not significally affected by outliers

= they are used to evaluate distribution of data over whole populations.

Q

Any type 1 or type 2 errors in my work?

A

Yes = I rejected my null hypothesis when it should have been accepted due to the expected value being higher/ lows than the critical value.
