Most readers of tech documents are not reading then by choice
To be efficient the writer must be as brief as the audience will allow.

Unnecessary repetition of a word or phrase

Choice of words used in writing and speech
Be careful of homophones, possessives, and contradictions

Wordiness
Use if unnecessary words or phrases
