The plot is the basic storyline or the summary of the performance. The plot needs to be interesting and original and it needs to make sense. The format of the plot is: action leading up to the climax, the climax, falling action and the conclusion.

The dialogue is the words that the actors have to say. The actors also need to know their cues.
