A

-Tests Sciatic nerve
-Patient laying supine with head in neutral
-Passively flex hip with straight knee as far as you can
-Ask for tingling in leg (likely to happen at 70 degrees)

Prone Knee Bend

A

-Tests Femoral nerve
-Patient lying prone with head neutral
-Passively flex knee ask for tingling down front of leg
-Sensitize with slight hip extension (hug around thigh and pull upwards)

Slump Test

A

-Patient seated with feet and knees hanging off table
1. Grasp hands behind back
2. Slouch
3. Chin to chest
4. Passively extend knee
5. Passively dorsiflex
6. Tingling or numbness down leg? Bring head up and it should go away

Dynamic ULTT

A

-Patient seated with feet and knees hanging off table
1. Stand behind patient and push down on top of shoulder to depress shoulder girdle
2. They abduct arm to 90 degrees
3. Bend elbow to bring thumb to shoulder
4. Extend wrist to turn palm up to ceiling
5. Extend fingers to try to touch shoulder
6. Turn thumb side of hand down to try to get your thumb to touch your wrist
7. Extend elbow to straighten arm “I will now have you extend your arm out and back as if you are reaching for something in the back of a car. Any tingling or numbness with that?”
8. Extend wrist so palm is facing upwards
9. Finger extension to try to get fingers straight with neutral wrist position
