What is Ober’s Test?

A
Test for tight iliotibial band and tensor fasciae latae 
Fix the pelvis and extend
the knee, abduct hip and
ext allow to drop down
\+ve test causes pain or is
obviously tighter than
opposite limb

A

Supine lying
At the end of the bed
Knee is pulled to the chest
Relaxing opposite leg

A

ROM assessment
Pain
Illiopsoas tightness opposite leg lifts up
Rec Fem opposite lifts up and knee extends
Add opposite leg moves inwards
ABD opposite leg moves outwards
Sartorious knee flexion and intrinsic rotation

A
Tests for inability of 
muscles to maintain
pelvic position 
Perform on normal
side first then
abnormal 
\+ve= glut med/min
weakness on stance leg
– DROPS
