Q

1 reasons why people went exploring

A

New trade route: The trade in silks and spices from the east was very profitable. Explorers and traders could grow very rich if they could find ways to get more goods to Europe more quickly, especially after the fall of Constantinople. the other countries wanted to find a new trade route to become rich as Italy already had one going through Asia. They sought new trade routes to the east due to the Ottoman Empire’s control over existing routes, which made trade expensive and difficult. They desired direct access to valuable Asian goods, were motivated by religious enthusiasm to spread Christianity, and were inspired by the pursuit of wealth.

A

During the Age of Exploration, the desire to build powerful empires drove European nations to explore unknown lands. Monarchs and rulers sought to expand their influence, wealth, and prestige by claiming new territories overseas. This imperial ambition fueled competition among countries like Spain, Portugal, England, and France, leading to voyages in search of new trade routes, resources, and colonies.
