Q

Explain the steps of the Naval arms race.

A

in 1900, Germany passed the Navy laws, which gave permission to build battleships. The german naval chief, Admiral Tirpitz, set up the Naval League. This was intended to encourage the German people to take interest in their navy.
Britain responded by building the best ever battleship, the HMS Dreadnought, launched in 1906, it was so advanced that it instantly made other battleships out of date.
Germany responded by building its own- the Rheinland.
Britains naval chief instantly ordered the building of the super-dreadnought- the HMS Neptune.
