If a noble killed a slave they would be executed

Slavery wasn’t permanent could be released if debt was paid off and children were born free

A

As punishment for a crime

Voluntarily sold into slavery to pay your debt or family’s debt

Get captured in war by an Aztec

How could you get rid of a slave?

A

If your slave wouldn’t do your bidding bring them to the market and prove it

Had to do this 3 times using 3 different acts of refusal

After the 3rd time the slave was then returned and resold

Slave had to be sold and resold 3 times to 3 different masters until sacrificed

How could slaves be freed?

A

Could buy their freedom

Had to pay what he had paid to buy them

On the way to being sold or resold they could attempt to run to the palace without being stopped their free

The only person who could chase them was the master’s son

If anyone interfered in the chase they would immediately become a slave
