- Amino-acids: must bind to receptors found on the plasma memberane
Name the four types of glands
- Thyroid
- Pituitary
- Parathyroid
- Adrenal
What is the function of the Thyroid Gland
produces Thyroxine and Calcitonin hormones, which lowers the calcium in the blood
What is the function of the Pituitary gland?
it is named the Master Gland and is located at the base of the brain.
it secretes the human growth hormone
What is the function of the Parathyroid gland
produces parathyroid hormones, which raise the Calcium in the blood
What is the function of the Adrenal glands and the three hormones it secretes?
locatd just above the kidneys, it secretes ;
