what is history?
The study of the past.
What is prehistory?
The time before anything was written down.
How do we gain evidence about the past?
Archaeology.
Two examples of sources.
Library, museum.
What is a primary source?
The original document that hasn’t been changed or edited.
What is a secondary source?
a document from the original time that has been changed or edited since.
How can we Judge if the source is reliable?
Cross checking for, bias information, propaganda and exaggeration.
What order do historians put events into?
Chronological order.
What happens to history if new evidence is discovered?
It will be re-written.
Why do we need history?
To be able to understand the past.
what is propaganda?
Information designed to influence a certain behavior of the public.
What is Historical consciousness?
Being able to place yourself in the past to have a better understanding of history.
