One of the most famous patrons, his family ran an important and succesful bank which was powerful in many parts of europe

Cosimo’s son, he took over the bank when cosimo died, nut he only lived 5 years more, so when piero died, cosimo’s grandson Lorenzo took over took over.
Lorenzo had enemies like the pazzi family, what happened in 1478
In 1478, Lorenzo and Giuliano were attending Mass in Florence Cathedral, a pazzi priest smahsed him over on the back of his head, then he stabbed him 18 times to make sure he was dead, lorenzo was able to escape.

Thr bank found it harder to be successful , many firms collapsed in the 1460s and lorenzo didnt have much money to spend on his grandfather.
