What was the aim of each ships captain?

A

The aim was to keep alive as many slaves as possible so they would survive and could be sold. The had to be treated relatively well

Profits of the ships captain would fall - slaves being treated badly?

A

The floor was covered in bodies, the men were chained two and two together and their allowance consisted 1 pint of water a day
They would be tossed into the sea and treated with cruelty, heat would suffocate them and brought sickness.

A

Slaves meals consisted of horse beans, yams, rice and a bit of beef or pork
If they didn’t eat would be punished
If the weather was good they were brought up to deck to give air.
