communist threat must have been very seriously considered as blaming the 1933 reichstag fire on communists persuaded hindenburg to use the emergency decree to expell them from the reichstag

following the reichstag fire under the emergency decree the kdp was banned and communists were removed from the reichstag - news papers and publications were also prohibited , this shows they were easily taken down by the government

after 1930 the weimar govs response to the economic crisis became less and less democratic with brunings having to rely almost entirely on presidential decree using 109 of them in 2 years

A

the west implemented fragebogen questionnaires 1945-1946 to understand all aspects of nazi life. People were then re-educated accordingly . however they werent enforced and the persil trials proved their innocence allowing them to get back into work if they had a testimonial of good behavior

A

currency reform in the west to create the deutchmark in 1948 upset they east causing the berlin blockade and cauinf basic laws to be drawn up as a frg constitution in 1948 by adenauer . similarly the gdr was proclaimed in 1949
