What is the order of the respiratory system?
Nasal or mouth cavity, pharynx, larynx, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles, alveoli.
What is another use of the respiratory system that does not include breathing or getting oxygen for energy?
Communication through speech in the larynx.
What is the difference between breathing and respiration?
Breathing is inhaling and exhaling oxygen, and respiration is converting oxygen into energy.
Why is the respiratory system important in animals?
Allows them to inhale oxygen which is necessary to create energy, and removes carbon dioxide which can be toxic if it builds up.
